The official portrait of Greg Walden, former Congressman for Oregon’s Second Congressional District and Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee, was unveiled to the public in a ceremony on Capitol Hill. The artwork, painted by Jon Friedman, will be on display in the Energy and Commerce Committee’s hearing room in Washington, D.C. [read more]

Walden is not a flashy politician. Instead, he works hard at his job representing the people of the 2nd Congressional District. He chairs the Committee on Energy and Commerce, which has passed out nearly 200 bills under his guidance, mostly with bipartisan support. When the heavy hand of government repeatedly hurt the ability of brewers to come out with new products, Walden brought bureaucrats to Central Oregon so they could understand the harm they were doing.

When veterans have faced issues with health care from the Veterans Administration, Walden has been a particularly powerful voice for reforms and holding the VA accountable.

Walden has been a steadfast voice in Congress to improve the management of federal forestlands, from protecting access to the land to unwinding the ridiculous policy of cutting wildfire prevention spending to fight fires. [read more]
